Moving to New York is a big change for many people, but it's one that offers a new world of opportunity and excitement. As a Manhattan moving company, Morgan Manhattan has helped thousands of customers with their relocations. Each client always expresses excitement about exploring their new home. To help you get started with settling into the city life, our residential movers have put together a selection of fun winter activities in New York. Hopefully, these ideas will supercharge your desire to get to know the Big Apple a little better!
Go Ice Skating
Manhattan features three different ice rinks where people love to get outside and try their skills on the ice. You would easily recognize the rink at Rockefeller Center from movies and television shows. Pick a warmer day and take the family down to the ice rink for some skating.
Visit Chinatown
This section of lower Manhattan is a great place to go window shopping. Every year between January and February, you can also catch the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade. The 2018 parade and festival occurs on February 16th.
Attend the Dog Show
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is a nice indoor event to attend each winter, especially if you love dogs! This year's show runs Monday, February 12th - Tuesday, February 13th, 2018. Tickets are sold for multiple events, but they'll set you back from between $32 to $100 each, depending on what you want to see.
Visit the Botanical Gardens
If you are missing the vibrant colors of summer, head on over to the New York Botanical Garden. This lovely garden and conservatory has a number of winter events, including the annual Orchid Show. Admission prices vary depending on the event and whether you're a member of the Garden. So, check in advance before heading over.
Our New York moving experts invite you to get out there and see the sights as soon as you are moved in. You'll find that the city offers many unique activities, even in the midst of winter.
