Winter…brrrr.

Between the cold, snow, and ice, it can be miserable. Despite the freezing temperatures, there are places in New York City that you have to love.

As New Yorkers, we understand the aversion to the cold temperatures, but we can’t help but get warm and fuzzy inside when we think of some of our favorite winter spots.

  • Ice Rink- There are several ice rinks that are pure magic. Central Park and Rockefeller Center are just two places to skate this winter.
  • Ballet- Come marvel at the physical ability of ballerinas at the New York Ballet. They have several shows running through the winter.
  • Warm Food and Drink- Indulge in delicious hot chocolate. Skip the touristy locations and visit one of the local cafes such as Martha’s Country Bakery, Le Churro, or Roni-Sue Chocolates. Later grab a meal at a fondue restaurant such as Simply Fondue or Taureau.
  • Flea Market- Explore one of the many flea markets around town.  The Brooklyn Flea Indoors is the most famous and filled to the brim.

These are just a few ideas for how you can spend a chilly day in the city. For other ideas, visit a museum or one of the many shopping centers.

Being New York movers, we know that this time of the year can be a challenge for those who aren’t prepared for winter.  These four tips can help you find your sweet spot this winter.
